Marketing Qualified Lead

A marketing qualified lead (MQL) is a prospect who has engaged with marketing efforts and meets predefined criteria indicating a higher likelihood of becoming a customer. MQLs are passed from marketing to sales for further qualification.

Examples

A prospect who downloads three resources, attends a webinar, and visits the pricing page is scored as an MQL and routed to the sales team.

Best Practices

Define MQL criteria collaboratively with sales, review the MQL-to-SQL conversion rate regularly, and adjust thresholds based on outcomes.
